Event in review: CLUS 2018
Cisco Live 2018: It’s a wrap! Between our speaking sessions, booth engagements, and other exciting activities, we had quite the productive week. Couldn’t make it? Let us catch you up.
Speaking Sessions and NOC Panel
During the week, we highlighted the capabilities and benefits of FlexPod in three compelling speaking sessions. Our core NOC team also sat down for an informal conversation about their work for the event.
“Healthcare with Epic EHR on FlexPod Converged Infrastructure by Cisco”
In this session led by NetApp’s Director of Solutions Product Management Arun Garg along with Cisco’s Global Business Development Manager David Lo, Arun and David detailed how deploying Epic on FlexPod mitigates deployment risk, speeds time to value, and much more. Watch the session on demand
“New Standards for the Healthcare Data Center”
Ketan Mota, Senior Product Manager at NetApp, first introduced consultant Jason Kennedy. Jason then described what FlexPod brought to New Orleans’s LCMC Health network following the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
“Infrastructure as Code: A Revolutionary Approach to Tackling New Business Imperatives for IT”
Lee Howard, CTO of Alliances at NetApp, provided his insights in the session “Infrastructure as Code: A Revolutionary Approach to Tackling New Business Imperatives for IT.” He demonstrated how FlexPod uses cutting-edge technology like artificial intelligence and machine learning to help customers take on new business challenges. We closed out Cisco Live with our long-running Network Operations Center (NOC) panel. There, the core NOC team sat down for a conversation about the week, sharing how they worked before and during the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. The audience’s favorite part appeared to be when the team talked about the NOC “pool party.” (If you’ve never been to Orlando in June, it’s hot and humid! That meant they had to do a lot of work to keep NOC condensation in check.)
By the way, if you’re wondering how many TB of data passed through the NOC over the week, the answer is 70. That’s a huge increase over last year’s 64.1 TB!
Theater Sessions and Demo Stations
The short theater sessions and demo stations were extremely popular, and many guests went directly from the 3D Graphics Virtualization theater session to the demo on the same topic.
Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins also stopped by for an executive walkthrough and asked our team about specific healthcare solutions and use cases.
The booth team captured some fantastic interviews with FlexPod customers, partners, and our own executives on video. Stay tuned for the final cuts!
Several members of the team also spoke to TechNative, IT Central Station, and theCUBE. Check out the Twitter feed for some of our favorites.
Thank you to all of those who attended and made the event such a success—we’re already looking forward to next year. Hope to see you there.
