FlexPod began when a couple of Cisco and NetApp leaders met for coffee and an idea sparked: What if Cisco and NetApp worked together to reimagine converged infrastructure, creating a solution that keeps pace with the evolution of IT?
This idea was a game-changer.
In 2010, we launched the first-generation FlexPod architecture, combining NetApp ONTAP storage arrays with Cisco UCS servers and Cisco Nexus switches. But we didn’t stop there. Today, the strong partnership between Cisco and NetApp continues, resulting in more than 300 person-years of joint engineering, over 200 reference architectures covering nearly every data center and hybrid cloud scenario, and a modern platform built on groundbreaking technologies trusted by thousands of customers worldwide.
